People have asked how I intend to vote. I am willing to place a sample ballot out there to answer the question realizing not all voters have the same comfort sharing such information. I believe in the 1st Amendment where people can say what they believe in the hope that others will agree or very importantly, share a counter belief through rational thought and reason. It is the only way to strengthen and maintain this great country for future generations.
My tag line: Efficiency, Accountability, Transparency and Fiscal Common Sense must be the main ideas.
As a representative of the people we must ensure our government works for us at all levels recognizing there are compromises along the way. Muskego is a great place to live and work with excellent schools, parks, walking/bike paths… However, there are going to be serious decisions to be made in the near future, low taxes, public roads, fire and police, emergency medical service, schools, parks and recreation… My concerns are that we are not getting the best for our dollars spent. I will be working with the Council to review matters for details. It is all about the Return on Investment. What matters to the taxpayer matters to me. I believe my past accomplishments have qualified me for this role.
Personal note: I grew up in a farm town and married the farmer’s daughter. My wife and I attended college together and began our careers 40 plus years ago. We love Wisconsin for the rich history and way of life. We love to travel and explore the national parks along the way. Our dog Milo enjoys the trips too!
One major highlight of our lives is being a part of Victory of the Lamb Church. A mission church that we joined around 2009 with 30 or so people. Today we are around 700 and have built a beautiful building down the street from Innovative Fitness. Feel free to join us Sunday morning — 9:00 AM or 1030 AM.
I’m running for this position because I believe in putting the community first. While I initially supported my opponent, expecting a shared commitment to conservative values, I’ve realized the need for stronger leadership rooted in real-world experience and practical problem-solving. My campaign slogan—Efficiency, Accountability, Transparency, and Fiscal Common Sense—reflects my core values. I bring 41 years of accredited service with the U.S. Postal Service and 31 years in the U.S. Air Force, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, cum laude. Twice retired, I am now ready to serve the community by applying decades of leadership, business insight, and common sense to local government.
If elected, I will focus on what matters most to the taxpayers. For the past two years, I have actively attended city meetings—both in person and online—to stay informed and hold our government accountable. I engage directly with local, county, state, and federal officials and follow up on key issues like landfill management, election integrity, infrastructure, and business development. My goal is to keep District 7 informed and involved in the decisions that shape our community.
My leadership style is based on decades of experience working with both small and large businesses. While at the Postal Service, I managed relationships with accounts ranging from local enterprises to multimillion-dollar corporations. I’ve organized and led statewide meetings with business leaders, chambers of commerce, and community groups to solve complex logistical challenges. I believe in listening, collaborating, and—when necessary—bringing in outside experts to find smart, effective solutions.
Smart growth requires a thoughtful approach. I plan to tap into my network of business and government contacts to explore opportunities for development while remaining mindful of the financial impact on taxpayers. I believe in working collaboratively—with the council and the community—to vet ideas, evaluate costs, and gather feedback. Growth should benefit the people who live here, and that means making community input a priority.
When it comes to funding and budgeting, we must distinguish between needs and wants. In reviewing recent city contracts, I was surprised by how poorly some were handled. The council needs to ask deeper questions and demand accountability. Whether it’s landscaping or emergency services, every decision must be made with transparency and fiscal responsibility. That’s why I emphasize Efficiency, Accountability, Transparency, and Fiscal Common Sense—because that’s what taxpayers deserve.
I believe our downtown has strong potential, but there’s room for growth. I’ve talked with residents and looked at successful neighboring communities like Greendale, which boasts great restaurants and vibrant public spaces. By attracting high-quality businesses and unique local experiences, we can build a thriving town center that draws people in. District 7 already has many outstanding businesses, and my goal is to preserve that legacy while creating more opportunities to gather, dine, and connect.
